The latest study which was published this year 2009, scientists believe that drinking juice boost ones immunity and stamina. In their study, they recruit eight men to drink juice as part of their main meal for six consecutive days and their stamina was tested in a fitness cycling apparatus. The result? Those eight men who drink juice where ahead for 92 seconds than those who did not drink juice. Scientists also discovered that they have lowered their blood pressure by just a six days juice diet. Juice fasting also fights cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and free radicals a chemical that destroys human DNA.
Juice fasting or commonly called detox diet is done by strictly juice alone as main meal and some vegetables on it. Its main purpose is to detoxify the body, weight loss and improve over all stamina. Juice fasting is also used to wean out in bad habits like when someone wants to stop smoking. It can also cure severe infections that are not curable by antibiotics.
When we say juice fasting it doesn’t mean canned juice or conventional juice. Here are lists of juices for fasting
Vegetable Juice
Mixture of celery, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper. Celery lowers blood pressure. Aid in losing weight and also a good source of calcium. Cucumber is rich in vitamins such as B vitamins, folate, vitamin C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Tomato is rich in lycopene and is a good source of antioxidant, vitamin C and A. bell pepper has the same nutrient contents from cucumber.
Green leafy juice
Mixture of Parsley, kale, Beet greens, chard, spinach, dandelion leaf. Parsley is good in losing weight and good source of calcium too. Kale is rich in powerful antioxidant and also anti inflammatory. Beet green lowers blood pressure, Controls sugar for diabetic person. Chard also lowers blood pressure and good anti oxidant. Spinach is rich in iron and calcium. Dandelion leaf is use to treat liver problem it is a good source of essential vitamins such as A, B vitamins and vitamin C.
Cruciferous juice
Mixture of Brccoli and cabbage. Broccoli is high in vitamin C, K and A. It is also rich in insoluble fiber. Cabbage is an excellent source of vitaminC. It also contains glutamine and amino acid.
Root juice
Mixture of carrots, beets, sweet potato. Carrots is high in vitamin A and E. A very powerful anti oxidant. Beets lower blood pressure and a good source of vitamin C too. Sweet potato is good as carbohydrate, dietary fiber, beta carotene, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin B6.
Fruits juice
Grapes, apples, citrus, Acai berry. Grapes is good in losing weight and is also anti cancer. Citrus is rich in vitamin C. Acai berry helps in losing weight, increase metabolism, helps increase fat oxidation, increase energy level and a very good source of antioxidant.
Herbs juice
Yucca root, fennel, spearment, peppermint, basil, ginger, garlic, onion, chili pepper, tumeric root, milk thistle. Yucca is rich in vitamins C, B and A. It is also good source of calcium, phosphorus, potassium and iron. Fennel is used as purgatives to cleans out colon, it improves eyesight and inflammation. Spearment and Peppermint is an antioxidant and can also be use as substitute to sugar. Basil is anti cancer, antimicrobial, antiviral and antioxidant. Ginger is good as stimulant, carminative and is used to heal dyspepsia and colic. Garlic is antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and it also lower high blood pressure. Onion controls sugar in diabetic person, rich in calcium, lower blood pressure, anticancer, antioxidant and anti inflammatory. Chili pepper is taken as analgesic in treating arthritis and rheumatic pain. It also aid in weight loss for people who is suffering obesity.
